Have you ever been strolling around in a store or in town and you see the cutest shoes ever? Most of us have been there. Then you ask your mom if she’ll get them for you. Let me guess-she says no. If this has happened to you before then you should ask your parents about opening a Chase First Banking account (or something similar). That way, next time you wanna get something you can pull your debit card out of your wallet proudly, and pay for it for with your very own money!

What is Chase First Banking and why should you use it?

Chase First Banking is an easy-to-make banking account for kids and teens that comes with a debit card so you can buy stuff while you are out and about. There are no monthly fees, and managing your own money is a great skill that you’re never too young to learn that makes you more responsible!

Step-by-Step Getting it Up

Have a chat with your mom or dad. Ask them if they already use Chase, if they do, great! There are also some great alternatives if your parents don’t use Chase, like Capital One MONEY Teen Checking for ages 8 and up, or Axos Bank First Checking and Alliant Credit Union Teen Checking, if you’re ages 13-17. Ask them if they would be help you set it up.

Have your parents search in their bank’s app for “Chase First Banking” or the name of the account you want to sign up to. Put in your info (birthday, name, email, etc.). Follow the rest of the on-screen instructions.

Tip: Make sure to save all your information and passwords or codes in a password manager or note app so you can log into your account on other devices.

A few days after setting up your account, you should receive your debit card in the mail. When you do, you can connect it to your phone’s wallet system to use to buy stuff digitally.

I use Chase First Banking and love it! Before, I lost money all the time. But since then, I have grown more responsible. But now I easily transfer money often!
